Katharinenthal Restaurant in Tallinn – Cozy Lunch by Kadriorg Swan Pond
Katharinenthal Restaurant in Tallinn is located at A. Weizenbergi 22, right on the edge of Kadriorg Park near the Swan Pond.
Even the name itself sounds elegant and full of history.
We visited Katharinenthal to try the FoodLover Restaurants Week menus, available only from October 2–12 at a special price and with advance reservation.
If you want to fill your autumn with good food and cozy experiences, this is definitely one to put in your calendar.
The first thing I noticed was the warm welcome.
The service was friendly and sincere, and that immediately created the right atmosphere.

During FoodLover Restaurants Week from October 2–12, Katharinenthal offers three special menus ✨
We tried two of them, and now the same experience is waiting for you.

🍴 3-Course Menu – €24

🥣 Pumpkin Soup – Pumpkin Three Ways
The first dish we tried was the pumpkin soup, more precisely Pumpkin Three Ways, a creamy coconut pumpkin soup.
Wow, the aroma and spices were wonderful 🌿
From the very first spoonful, it somehow gave me a little Christmas feeling.
The soup had a lovely spicy note, the coconut added creaminess, and the silky texture was incredibly comforting 😋
If you are a soup lover, this is definitely something I would recommend trying.

🥩 Veal Liver with Caramelized Onion
One of the main courses I had the chance to try was veal liver with caramelized onion.
I will say straight away that normally I only really like liver when it comes in pâté form 😂
It was served with mashed potatoes, caramelized onion, Bordelaise sauce and lingonberry jam.
First of all, the onion was amazing.
Sweet, deeply caramelized, almost like a little treat on its own.
There were also roasted carrots 🥕 on the side, which were nicely crunchy and sweet.
If I am being picky, I would have preferred the liver in smaller pieces because the portion felt quite large.
But the mashed potatoes were genuinely delicious, creamy, warm and very comforting.

🍝 Seafood Arrabiata Pasta
The second main course on the campaign menu was Seafood Arrabiata, pasta in a spicy tomato sauce with a generous selection of seafood.
This was really good 🍤🍅
The tomato sauce had enough heat to make it interesting, but not so much that it overpowered everything else.
The seafood, including prawns, shellfish and other goodies, was cooked perfectly.
No rubbery texture, just juicy and fresh seafood.
This is exactly the kind of dish a pasta and seafood lover could enjoy with a glass of wine and simply sit back and enjoy the moment 😇

🍰 Desserts – Blackcurrant and Pistachio
Desserts at Katharinenthal deserve their own little chapter.
The special menus do not have one fixed dessert, which I actually really like, because you can choose your own cake from their display.
And the selection is quite generous.
We chose two desserts:
👉 Blackcurrant cake – creamy, fruity, fresh and full of flavor, with a lovely sweet-and-tart balance.
👉 Pistachio cake – moist and pleasantly rich without being too dry.
My favorite was still the blackcurrant cake.

🍵 Sakura Tea
And to finish, Sakura tea.
It was so smooth and pleasant, almost smelling like spring 🌸 with a lightly sweet flavor.
A lovely warm drink to enjoy with the food.
Not too strong, just gentle enough to let you relax after the meal.
Katharinenthal Restaurant in Tallinn – Cozy Dining in Kadriorg
Katharinenthal serves an all-day menu with something for different tastes.
There is a strong focus on lighter dishes that pair nicely with quality coffee, wine and, of course, something sweet from the cake counter.
My personal favorites from everything we tried were:
⭐ Pumpkin soup – aromatic, spicy and almost Christmassy
⭐ Blackcurrant cake – creamy, fresh and full of flavor
FoodLover Restaurants Week special menus are available only from October 2–12, so if you want to experience them yourself, it is worth booking your table in advance.
