KAI Resto in Tallinn – Beautiful Sea View, Exotic Atmosphere & Gourmet Experience
KAI Resto is located behind Tallinn’s Linnahall, at Mere pst 20c. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the stunning sea view and the restaurant’s exotic atmosphere.
With its relaxed chill vibe, KAI Resto combines refined style with a laid-back feel. The space is filled with greenery, large windows add a sense of openness, and the panoramic seaside view lets you watch ships come and go — a truly calming and beautiful setting.

In addition to being a cozy and nature-inspired spot to relax during the colder months, KAI Resto is even more enjoyable in the summer, when you can sit out on the terrace and soak up the seaside atmosphere.
During FoodLover Restaurants Week (October 4–13), KAI Resto offers two special tasting menus – one for seafood lovers and one for meat enthusiasts, each priced at €38.
🐟 Seafood Menu – €38
Three Fish Carpaccio – light-cured salmon, tuna, and whitefish fillet with sun-dried tomato pesto, avocado-cream cheese sauce, and Comté cheese
Octopus – served with early and blue potatoes, roasted vegetables, and lemon oil
Mango Tart – coconut sponge with juicy mango cream
🥩 Meat Menu – €38
Smoked Duck Salad – smoked duck fillet, Brie cheese, dragon fruit, caramelized pear, pistachios, mango-pear dressing
Veal Fillet – padrón pepper, early potato, corn, beetroot-cherry sauce
Belgian Cookie Dessert – airy vanilla sponge with a light Belgian cookie-flavored cream
I had a chance to try their seafood menu, starting with the three fish carpaccio – an incredibly fresh, flavorful, and light dish that was the perfect way to begin the meal.

The main course was octopus, and the combination of spices created a truly unique flavor profile. The meat was tender, not chewy, and cooked to perfection. The portion was very generous – served on an even larger plate for full effect :). I especially enjoyed the variety of vegetables served alongside the octopus, which added color, texture, and freshness to the dish.

At first, the starter felt a bit small, but once the main course arrived, I found myself working to finish it – in the best way. In the end, the portion sizes were well-balanced: not too big or too small, allowing you to fully enjoy each dish without feeling overwhelmed.
I really appreciated that the main course plate was served hot, which kept the food warm and enjoyable, instead of cooling down too quickly on a cold plate.
While the desserts from the FoodLover Restaurants Week menu weren’t available yet (as they’ll be served only during the campaign), I did try one of their à la carte desserts: the Must Ruut (a chocolate sponge cake with rum chocolate cream), priced at €7.90. It was deliciously creamy and sweet, with a pleasant little nutty surprise hidden inside.

If you’d like to enjoy these special dishes at an incredible price, book your table at KAI Resto today and treat yourself between October 4–13 during FoodLover Restaurants Week.
The interior design was beautiful and perfectly matched with the atmospheric music, which added a vibrant energy to the evening. KAI Resto also hosts various events and DJ performances.
The restaurant can accommodate up to 200 guests in winter and 300 in summer, making it an excellent venue for romantic dinners, birthday celebrations, or corporate events. They also offer high-quality shisha, which is definitely something worth trying!

A unique atmosphere, delicious food, and enjoyable entertainment – all of this makes KAI Resto one of the best places in Tallinn to spend your time.
