Authentic Italian Cuisine in Tallinn – A True Italini Restaurant Experience

Recently, I visited the Italian restaurant Italini, located on the ground floor of the Park Inn by Radisson Meriton Conference & Spa Hotel in Tallinn, at Paldiski Road 2. I had the chance to explore their à la carte menu dedicated to authentic Italian cuisine, featuring delicious dishes like osso bucco, portobello alla griglia, and filetto di manzo.

The atmosphere at the restaurant was warm and homely – every guest is welcomed as if they’ve been specially expected. The menu was rich with dishes from various Italian regions, ranging from fresh cheeses and wood-fired pizzas to creamy pastas and risottos.

During the FoodLover Restaurants Week from October 4th to 13th, Italini has prepared five delicious special menus at incredibly good prices!

Vegetarian Menu, €27:

One of the appetizers offered is the Mozzarella Caprese salad – a delicious combination with sweet, ripe tomatoes and a surprisingly generous portion for a starter.

As the second starter, we tried the beef carpaccio. The salty cheese and natural beef complemented each other with a well-balanced flavor.

Ciabatta with butter isn’t served with some of the dishes, but we still asked for it on the side to see how good their homemade ciabatta really is. The bread was perfect – crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The butter was different from what I expected – more liquid and perhaps more like a cold sauce – but it worked well when spread on the bread.
They also have an impressive pizza oven at the restaurant 🙂

One of the main courses is roasted duck breast. We ordered it medium-plus, which was a good choice since we’re not fans of undercooked meat. The skin could have been a bit crispier, but the meat itself was tender with a nice natural flavor. The accompanying purée leaned toward the sweet side, but the overall dish was very well-balanced. At times, we wished for some extra vegetables on the side, but we noticed from the menu that such an option is available if desired.

Our second main course was osso buco. The meat was incredibly tender and naturally flavorful. The velvety mashed potatoes on the side were also delightful.

Factually, this is a traditional Italian dish, typically made from veal shank (or sometimes lamb), slow-cooked with vegetables, white wine, and broth. It’s known for its rich flavor and tender meat that falls off the bone. Traditionally, it’s served with risotto or mashed potatoes to balance the richness of the braised meat.

For dessert, we tried both of the options offered. The crème brûlée, with its sweet crunchy crust, was truly special – a velvety and classically delightful combination.

The second dessert we tried was the tiramisu. It was fluffy and moist, and 100% enjoyable even for those who don’t usually drink coffee. A definite favorite if you had to choose between the two!

Italini restaurant also offers an impressive selection of Italian wines, liqueurs, and expertly crafted cocktails that pair perfectly with the dishes. Their lunch specials are ideal for a quick yet enjoyable meal, featuring a variety of buffet options with seasonal soups and fresh salads. Soft background music adds to the pleasant dining atmosphere.

Be sure to take advantage of the opportunity to visit Italini restaurant at more affordable prices than usual. These special menus and offers are only valid from October 4th to 13th.
