Rucola is located just outside Tallinn, in the heart of Peetri at Peetri tee 2. You can’t miss it – the iconic Peetri windmill is clearly visible from afar, and right next to it you’ll find the cozy Rucola restaurant.

Lunchtime here is bustling – it’s clearly a local favorite for midday meals. And for good reason: the combination of flavors, friendly service, and warm atmosphere makes it a delightful experience.

The restaurant spans two floors. On the ground floor, guests can enjoy the lively ambiance and watch pizzas being made in the open kitchen with a wood-fired oven. The upper floor offers a spacious dining area, perfect for private events or more intimate gatherings.

2-course menu – €15
Tartufo pizza – truffle sauce / mozzarella / porcini mushrooms / arugula / crudo ham / parmesan

Starter:
Croquette – crudo / mozzarella / basil gel / tomato cream / savory meringue
Main Course (choice of):

  1. Lamb shank – sweet potato cream / gorgonzola / crispy Jerusalem artichoke / broccolini / red wine jus

  2. Octopus – bisque risotto / tarragon pesto / fermented kohlrabi
    Dessert:
    Goat cheese mousse – figs / red wine / gorgonzola / whipped cream / meringue

Vegetarian menu – €15
Quinoa salad – quinoa / avocado / edamame / cashew nuts / celery / fresh greens / citrus dressing
Vegan Pollo pizza (gluten-free base available) – tomato sauce / vegan cheese / vegan chicken / bell pepper / pineapple / arugula

For the starter, I chose the intriguingly named Croquette. A sweet-savory meringue dried for 12 hours and a mozzarella cheese ball – it already sounds delicious, and the taste is even better! 😋 Combined with creamy tomato and basil gel, the whole dish offers a wonderfully unique flavor balance.

For the main course, I chose the Atlantic octopus.
What a beautifully plated dish – the fermented kohlrabi looked almost like a jellyfish on the plate! 😜 The whole experience felt like being transported to a charming little coastal town in Italy. The risotto, prepared with French technique and Italian flavors, pairs perfectly with the tender octopus. It’s a generous and satisfying portion – no need to worry about leaving hungry! The octopus was cooked to perfection. Compliments to the chef – thank you! 😇

For dessert, one of the menus features a goat cheese mousse – and I just had to try it.
What a beautifully refined presentation, and the flavors are even more intriguing than they look! 😋 Honestly, I’m speechless – all of my favorites came together on one plate: blue cheese, goat cheese, and fig. Wow! You absolutely have to try this one. 👌
