Estonia’s first true ready meal kit service
Põhjala Catering is the first in Estonia to offer complete ready meal kits. Their head chef Dmitri Britikovski has crafted each box with high-quality ingredients and clear instructions. Every FOOD KIT includes prepared ingredients for 5 different meals, complete with step-by-step recipes.
The more complex steps are already handled by the professional kitchen team – you just need to add the final touches at home. New weekly menus keep the experience exciting and fresh.
All kits have a shelf life of 72 hours (3 days).
My honest experience
I tested one of the kits myself. At first, I was skeptical – I thought the meals might be boring or not tasty. But I was wrong 🙂 It turned out to be super convenient, and I loved the variety!
I used to think choosing meals myself was more flexible, but having someone else plan it was actually liberating. It saved so much time and mental energy, and I’d happily cook this way every day. It left me more time for other important things.
Here’s what my FOOD KIT included:
Fried pike-perch fillet with potato–rutabaga mash, tartar sauce, and salted cucumber
Buckwheat stew with chicken, vegetables, and sun-dried tomato, served with creamy fennel salad with apple, rutabaga, and celery
Beef borscht with sour cream and artisan corn bread
Pasta a la Bolognese with a fresh green salad and pesto dressing
BBQ pork with blackcurrant sauce, garlic-cayenne corn on the cob, and Korean-style carrot salad
All ingredients are clearly numbered and packaged, so you know exactly what goes with what. Each kit comes with detailed cooking instructions to help you easily finish each dish like a pro.

Fried pike-perch fillet with potato–rutabaga mash, tartar sauce, and pickled cucumber

Just 15 minutes and a delicious main course is ready. The perfect combination all in one!

Buckwheat stew with chicken, vegetables, and sun-dried tomatoes, served with a creamy fennel salad with apple, rutabaga, and celery.
Not my usual combination – tomato-based sauce with chicken and buckwheat – but it actually tasted great. Surprisingly good, in fact!

Beef borscht with sour cream and artisan corn bread.
Ready in 15 minutes – delightfully sweet and mildly spicy.

Pasta a la Bolognese with a fresh green salad and pesto dressing.
My second favorite of all the dishes – I’d definitely eat this one again!

Barbecue pork with blackcurrant sauce, garlic–cayenne corn on the cob, and Korean-style carrot salad.
My absolute favorite of all five dishes – the meat was smoky and incredibly tender.
I’m not usually a pork eater, but this was one of the best pork dishes I’ve ever had. Thank you!

Highly recommended – everything was super easy to prepare! 🙂
