MEAT Resto & Butchery – A Culinary Delight for Meat Lovers and Vegetarians Alike
Recently, I visited MEAT Resto & Butchery, located in Tabasalu, at Rannamõisa tee 38d – just a 15-minute drive from Tallinn city centre. This exclusive meat restaurant and butcher shop, situated on the ground floor of the Tiskre Business Centre, is a truly impressive place to enjoy high-quality meat dishes as well as thoughtfully prepared vegetarian options.

During FoodLover Restaurants Week, from October 4th to 13th, MEAT Resto & Butchery invites you to enjoy three special menus!
🍽️ 2-Course Menu – €20
ZANDER FILLET – Potato-cauliflower purée, trout roe, asparagus, kale, Beurre Blanc sauce (GF)
STRAWBERRY MERINGUE ROLL WITH ANGLAISE SAUCE (GF)
🍽️ 3-Course Menu – €39
PRAWN & OCTOPUS PIL-PIL – Garlic, chili, baguette (GF)
GRILLED BEEF TENDERLOIN DUET (EST + BRA) – 100g Estonian tenderloin and 100g Brazilian Black Angus tenderloin, fries with aged cheese, pepper sauce (GF)
CRÈME BRÛLÉE WITH WILD BERRY SORBET (GF)
🌱 Vegetarian Menu – €19
TOMATO-PEPPER TARTARE – Avocado cream (LF)
BAKED EGGPLANT WITH TOMATO SAUCE AND CHEESE (GF, LF)
PINEAPPLE CARPACCIO WITH PROSECCO SORBET – Fresh strawberry (GF, LF)
As one of the starters, we chose the tomato-pepper tartare from the vegetarian menu. It was delightfully zesty and made a great start to the meal, especially when paired with the crispy bread.

The first course of the 3-course menu is a prawn and octopus pil-pil. Perfectly cooked, with a gentle touch of garlic that’s flavorful without being overpowering.

The main course of the 2-course menu is zander fillet. For me, the fish was a bit too salty, as I personally prefer more natural flavors. However, the potato-cauliflower purée was absolutely delightful.

The seed bread with sea salt flakes and assorted spreads served alongside the dishes was wonderfully fresh and absolutely delicious.
For the main course, we had the grilled Estonian and Brazilian beef tenderloin, which we ordered medium doneness based on the server’s recommendation. Since neither of us are big fans of red meat on the rarer side, we would have actually preferred it more well done. That said, the meat was still flavorful, tender, and juicy.
An interesting fact – when red meat is cooked to a rarer doneness, it may appear “bloody,” but in reality, it’s not blood. The red liquid is actually myoglobin-rich meat juice, which is released during cooking.

One of the desserts we chose was the strawberry meringue roll – creamy and pleasantly sweet.

The second dessert was crème brûlée with wild berry sorbet – incredibly tasty and always one of my favorite desserts. The caramelized sugar topping could have been even a bit thicker for that extra crunch 😋.

Each menu comes with specially curated wine pairings, and I wholeheartedly recommend adding them to your meal. The prices are so good you might not get an offer like this again 🤩!

The restaurant offers a variety of options, from breakfast to an à la carte dinner menu. One of the highlights is their summer terrace, where you can sit comfortably even on cooler days. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting – an ideal place to spend time with both friends and family.

MEAT Resto & Butchery offers something truly special – whether it’s a summer grill party or a romantic dinner. I highly recommend stopping by if you’re in or around Tallinn to enjoy a delightful culinary experience!
