Al Mare Grill Restaurant in Tallinn – Great Value for Money
For me, Al Mare Grill (Mõisa tn 4, Tallinn) has been one of my favorite restaurants for years. You can always count on delicious grilled meat and friendly service. In the background, romantic pop-rock music sets the mood.
For a starter, I chose crispy cheese jalapeño bites (€5.45). Just the right amount of heat to warm you up. A great choice to begin with – nicely warm and not too heavy. And if the jalapeño isn’t quite enough, you can always add a spicier sauce from the bottom of the dish.
On the side, they served warm multigrain rolls with a crispy crust and soft inside, accompanied by flavored butter.
For the main course, I chose grilled lamb rack (€14.90). On the side were grilled vegetables – zucchini, tomato, marinated onion, bell pepper, red onion, beetroot, and marinated jalapeños. The vegetables were very well prepared – nicely crisp yet still soft. The lamb, cooked medium, was tender, juicy, and full of flavor. It was served with my favorite warm pepper-mustard sauce.
The plate could have been slightly larger to make cutting the food easier at the beginning.
For me, the portion of meat was quite generous, which means even someone with a big appetite will definitely feel full after the main course.
The service was friendly and knowledgeable. The wine recommendation paired well with the lamb. I was suggested a glass of red Chilean wine, Tarapacá Cabernet Sauvignon (€4.95), which complemented the dish nicely.
They have a wide selection of cakes and pastries, and you can choose your favorite directly from the counter. For dessert, I enjoyed a classic cheesecake (€3.50), and you can also add fresh strawberry jam on the side if you like.
In summer, there’s a lovely outdoor terrace with a view towards the sea.
Parking is free in the large parking area in front of the building.
I’ve always liked this place, and once again, it did not disappoint.
The restaurant is cozy, warm, and bright thanks to large floor-to-ceiling windows. Al Mare Grill can also host events for up to 90 guests, including birthdays, corporate events, and formal receptions.
