Meistri Cafe Lyon – French Cuisine straight to your home
Located in Tallinn’s Õismäe district, at Meistri Street 22, you’ll find Cafe Lyon – a cozy and charming French-style café and restaurant.

🍽️ A Wide and Tempting Menu at Cafe Lyon
The menu at Meistri Cafe Lyon is broad and full of variety. You’ll find everything from sweet and savory pastries to fresh salads, quiches, mini cakes, layered tortes for takeaway, smoothies, ice cream shakes, crêpes, frog legs, mussels… whew!
It quickly becomes a delightful dilemma – what to choose and what absolutely not to skip 😋
☀️ During summer, you can also enjoy it all on the sunny outdoor terrace, where the sun shines throughout the day 🤩

🥐 Freshly Baked Every Morning – and Smoothies with Personality
One of the true highlights of Meistri Cafe Lyon is their in-house bakery, where fresh pastries, macarons, eclairs, and more are baked every morning.
You can enjoy them on the spot or order a custom selection for your party table 🥳.
And don’t miss the creative smoothie menu, featuring fun and playful names like Miss Estonia, Eiffel, and Coconut Chanel.
My pick? A smoothie called Uhvo (€6.5), made with pineapple, apple, cucumber, and avocado – refreshingly tasty and visually impressive.

Right now, Cafe Lyon is bursting with freshness and color – offering a wide selection of freshly pressed juices, each for just €4.9.
Of course, I had to try my favorite: freshly squeezed orange juice – and it did not disappoint 🥰

When it came to starters, I was already in trouble – so many tempting options! Unable to decide, I went with two starters and a soup I had heard great things about (but hadn’t tried myself yet).
🥑 Starter 1: Chicken & Avocado Salad with Beetroot and Grain Mustard Mayo (€12.5)
My first impression? Not at all what I expected – in the best possible way. The presentation was elegant, even artistic. The salad felt warm and fresh, and you really get a full, creamy avocado all to yourself 😋
The chicken was beautifully seasoned, the beetroot had a lightly salty, cumin-spiced flavor that completely surprised me – in the best way. A small but delightful flavor discovery!

🧅 Starter 2: French Onion Soup with Crispy Croutons and Parmesan (€4.9)
Now this was a true surprise. Packed with caramelized onions and full of deep, rich flavor 🤩 – an absolute hidden gem on the menu.
The combination of textures and the touch of melty parmesan made every spoonful a pleasure. Honestly, it was so hearty that I could’ve been full just from the soup alone 😋

Starter 3: Moules in Saffron Sauce with Lyon Bakery Baguette (€11.9)
These mussels in saffron sauce were packed with flavor. The saffron added a gentle spiciness, making the dish rich and aromatic without being overpowering.
And the freshly baked baguette from Lyon’s own bakery, toasted with butter, was perfect for dipping into that golden saffron sauce 😋

🐸 Next Time, I’m Definitely Trying the Frog Legs
There were still dishes I didn’t get to try – like the frog legs and the goat cheese salad. Both looked amazing, but… well, there’s only so much room in one stomach 😆
🦆 Main Course: Miso-Glazed Duck Breast with Burnt Eggplant Cream and Cream Cheese–Caper Sauce (€14.9)
This dish was a true highlight. The duck breast, cooked medium, was tender, juicy, and full of flavor.
As a fan of eggplant, I was thrilled to discover a slightly spicy, velvety eggplant cream, which paired beautifully with the duck.
The creamy cheese and caper sauce tied everything together for a rich and elegant finish.

🍓 Time for Something Sweet, Right? 😜
Of course, we had to finish with dessert! Sure, there’s the classic crème brûlée on the menu – but since I’m in a French-style restaurant, it only felt right to go fully authentic.
My eyes quickly landed on a section with about ten sweet and savory crêpes. (In case you didn’t know – a crêpe is a thin, French-style pancake.)
☀️ To capture those last tastes of summer, I chose the sweet crêpe with fresh strawberries and whipped cream(€5.5). Mmm… what a perfect way to end the meal!

🎂 Custom Cakes and Pastries for Your Party Table
As mentioned earlier, Cafe Lyon also offers cakes, kringles, and savory pastries you can order for your home celebrations or events. From large and small pies to beautiful layered cakes, there’s something for every taste and table.
Here’s just a small selection 👇
