MEAT Resto & Butchery – Steak Restaurant in Tiskre

MEAT Resto & Butchery is located in Haabersti, on the first floor of Tiskre Business Centre, around a 15-minute drive from Tallinn city centre.

This is not simply a meat restaurant. It brings a restaurant and butcher shop together under one roof. Alongside dining in, you can also buy quality meat to take home and ask the butcher for advice on which cut would work best for what you are planning to cook.

As we entered the restaurant, we were welcomed by a friendly member of staff while soft romantic music played in the background. Once we were seated, we were also introduced to a drinks package designed to accompany the special menu.

Our table happened to be right next to the fireplace, which is lit as the evening begins. The romantic atmosphere was pretty much already taken care of 🙂

FoodLover Restaurants Week Special Menus

From 15–23 February, MEAT Resto & Butchery is offering two special menus at excellent prices as part of FoodLover Restaurants Week.

Naturally, we went to see and taste what was on offer 🙂

2-course menu – €10

Classic borscht with beef and sour cream
Caramel panna cotta

3-course menu – €25

Grilled tiger prawns with chilli sauce
Black Angus New York steak, 200 g + 1 side + 1 sauce
Chocolate mousse with Vana Tallinn liqueur, cherry, and kama biscuit

Grilled Tiger Prawns

The tiger prawns were tender, juicy, and had a lovely texture. Together with the chilli sauce, this starter worked especially well and immediately made us look forward to the next course.

Classic Borscht

The borscht was genuinely excellent. It was pleasantly savoury, with tender beef and beetroot cooked to just the right texture.

I would easily say it was one of the best bowls of borscht I have had.

Black Angus New York Steak

For the main course, we chose the Black Angus New York steak, accompanied by mushroom sauce and grilled vegetables.

The meat was tender, well seasoned, and nicely savoury. The grilled vegetables even featured the MEAT Resto logo seared onto them, which added a fun little detail to the presentation 🙂

The mushroom sauce was rich and savoury and paired very well with the steak.

Caramel Panna Cotta

If you have a sweet tooth, this dessert is a pretty safe bet.

The panna cotta was soft and creamy, while the caramel on top almost melted in the mouth. Caramel popcorn added a satisfying crunch and made the dessert even more interesting.

Chocolate Mousse

The chocolate mousse was silky and smooth, with the flavour of Vana Tallinn liqueur coming through quite clearly.

It was not overly sweet, and the cherries worked beautifully with the chocolate. The presentation was also very impressive and made the dessert a real feast for the eyes as soon as it arrived at the table 🙂

MEAT Resto & Butchery in Tiskre

MEAT Resto & Butchery opened in December 2016 and is located on the first floor of Tiskre Business Centre in Tallinn.

At the time of opening, it introduced a rather unusual concept to Estonia by combining a dedicated meat restaurant with a butcher shop under one roof.

The restaurant covers around 300 square metres and seats up to 72 guests. During summer, a large outdoor terrace provides additional seating. The interior feels modern while still remaining comfortable and cosy.

Alongside its strong selection of quality meats, the restaurant also offers a good range of wines and cocktails.

If you love steak, quality meat, and the idea of picking up a great cut to take home after your meal, MEAT Resto & Butchery is definitely one of the more interesting meat restaurants to try in Tallinn.
