Goodwin The Steak House in Tallinn – The Legendary Meat Platter
I recently visited Goodwin The Steak House Tallinnas, located in the heart of the Old Town at Viru Street 22. From the moment I stepped inside, I was impressed by the atmospheric interior – warm lighting, dark wood, and a true classic steakhouse vibe.
The staff welcomed me with a friendly smile, creating a relaxed and inviting atmosphere right away.

The beef steaks at Goodwin The Steak House Tallinnas are made from some of the world’s finest meat, sourced from Australia and the United States. To ensure perfect flavor and texture, the restaurant uses a unique Josper charcoal oven, which combines the techniques of grilling and roasting for an unforgettable result.
The menu at Goodwin is simple yet beautifully curated, much like a harmonious melody. Just a few highlights:
🥗 Salad with pan-fried porcini mushrooms and pumpkin seed oil
🥩 New York Steak
🐑 Lamb ribs in pepper sauce
🍔 GOODWIN Burger with sautéed mushrooms, cheese, and crispy onion rings
🥕 Homemade Carrot Cake for dessert!
Every dish is carefully composed to showcase quality ingredients and bold, rich flavors — just what you’d expect from a top-tier steakhouse in Tallinn.

If you’re curious or simply a true meat lover, you can ask the waiter or chef at Goodwin The Steak House Tallinnas for a special meat tasting presentation. They’ll show you the different cuts of beef, explain their origins and characteristics, and help you choose the one that suits your taste best.
This kind of personal and informative experience is something I had never seen before – and it truly made the visit even more special 🤩.

For my starter, I chose the beef carpaccio (€13.5), personally recommended by head chef Evgeny Karnaukhov.
It was incredibly flavorful, with a delightful hint of lemon and olive oil that made the dish light, fresh, and perfectly balanced.

To complement the dishes, I ordered a glass of the house red wine – Tempranillo, Gran Selection, Vina Albali, VdIT Castilla, Spain. A 50 cl carafe costs €13.5, and it was well worth it.
The wine was nicely fruity, smooth, and classically elegant – a perfect match for steak and starters alike. 👍

For my main course, I chose the chef-recommended T-bone steak (€10.9 per 100g). The meat was tender, juicy, and full of flavor.
The T-bone steak is made from specially selected marbled beef, from grain-fed cattle. It features the signature T-shaped bone, and includes two cuts in one: the tenderloin (filet mignon) and a thin strip of sirloin. The bone enhances the taste and aroma, making it a true classic for steak lovers.
The steak was brought to the table as one large cut, and the head chef personally sliced it in front of me. I could then finish the steak to my liking on a hot stone plate, giving full control over the final doneness 😋.

To accompany the main course, I added mashed potatoes with Dorblu cheese (€4) and creamed spinach (€5.5). Both sides were rich, flavorful, and perfectly matched with the steak.
To elevate the meat even further, four different sauces were served alongside.
My personal favorite? The creamy mushroom sauce – absolutely delicious and packed with earthy depth.

For dessert, I went with the Crème Brûlée (€8.5). What made it special was that instead of just one, you actually get to enjoy three different flavors in one serving 😋 – coffee, pistachio, and vanilla.
My favorite was definitely the pistachio – rich, smooth, and slightly nutty. A classic dessert done right, and a lovely way to end the meal. 👍
