Meat & Wine Steak House in Tallinn – FoodLover Restaurants Week October 2026
Meat & Wine Steak House – Meat or Fish? We Tried Both
If you’ve been thinking that one day you’d like to go out for a proper steak, but haven’t quite wanted to spend the money or simply haven’t found the right occasion, then FoodLover Restaurants Week might be the perfect reason to finally give it a try. 🤩
Before Restaurants Week, we went to Meat & Wine Steak House to try their special menus. Since there are two different 3-course menus to choose from, we made the decision easy: we tried both. 😋 One for meat lovers and one for fish lovers.
And I’ll tell you one thing straight away: you definitely won’t leave hungry.
Meat & Wine Steak House in Tallinn Old Town
Meat & Wine is located at Väike-Karja 1 in Tallinn Old Town, and the name already gives you a pretty good idea of what the restaurant is known for.
But it wouldn’t be quite fair to call it just a steakhouse, as the menu also includes fish and seafood. On the current regular menu, you’ll find dishes such as mussels in a garlic and white wine sauce, tiger prawns and grilled salmon steak.
Another important part of the Meat & Wine experience is their Josper oven. The steaks are cooked in a Spanish Josper charcoal oven at around 300°C. The intense heat quickly creates a delicious crust on the outside while helping the meat stay beautifully juicy on the inside.

FoodLover Restaurants Week at Meat & Wine, 7–18 October
This time, you can choose between two different 3-course menus, both priced at €40 per person.
🥩 Meat Menu – €40
Chicken Caesar salad
Filet mignon steak with French fries
Apple cake with ice cream
🐟 Fish Menu – €40
Mussels in wine sauce
Salmon steak with couscous
Apple cake with ice cream

Chicken Caesar Salad
The meat menu starts with a Chicken Caesar salad, and it smelled so good as soon as it arrived at the table. The grilled chicken was excellent: wonderfully tender, full of flavour, and the whole salad was rich and satisfying.
Already after the starter, I had a feeling that three courses here were going to leave us very full. 😋

Mussels in Wine Sauce
The fish menu starts with mussels in wine sauce.
I really like that the two menus are genuinely different. If you come as a couple and one of you chooses the meat menu while the other goes for the fish menu, you get to experience several completely different flavours in one dinner.
The mussels are deliciously tender and served in a lovely garlic and wine sauce. And the portion is generous enough that when it first arrives, you might wonder if they’ve accidentally brought you the main course already. 😃

Filet Mignon – So Tender and a Solid 10/10
And then came the dish we had been looking forward to the most at Meat & Wine, and one that would definitely make us come back again.
We ordered the steak medium, and it was perfect! The meat was incredibly tender and wonderfully juicy. The flavours were spot on, and the doneness was exactly as it should be. My dining companion was equally impressed, saying that you don’t come across meat cooked this perfectly everywhere. 👌
This kind of steak is a great example of why I love FoodLover Restaurants Week. If you’ve never gone out specifically for a proper steak, or you’ve looked at the regular menu prices and thought, maybe one day I’ll try it, this is a great opportunity.
On Meat & Wine’s regular menu, the 200 g filet mignon alone is currently €29, with a side dish worth €5 also included with the main course. The Chicken Caesar salad is €12.50 and the warm apple cake with ice cream is €7.80. So when you compare that with the special 3-course menu for €40, it’s easy to see why this is such a good opportunity to give Meat & Wine a try.
Sometimes there’s no need to overcomplicate things. A great steak, some fries, and suddenly an ordinary day has turned into a delicious memory. 😇

Salmon Steak – Incredibly Tender
If the star of the meat menu is the filet mignon, then the highlight of the fish menu is the salmon steak with couscous.
The salmon was incredibly tender, and the couscous on the side made it a lovely alternative for anyone who doesn’t fancy steak. My portion was so generous that I simply couldn’t manage to finish half of the couscous, so you definitely don’t need to worry about leaving hungry. 😄
That’s also one of the things I really like about having two different menus: you can easily come to Meat & Wine together even if one of you definitely wants meat and the other prefers fish.

Apple Cake with Ice Cream – the Perfect Apple-Filled Finish for Autumn
Both menus end with apple cake and ice cream. After those generous starters and main courses, you might think there couldn’t possibly be any room left for dessert. But somehow there always seems to be a separate stomach for dessert. 😄
The cake was wonderfully full of apple flavour, while the ice cream balanced the warm cake perfectly. The slightly tart cherry jam served alongside added just the right little burst of freshness. A lovely, comforting finish that feels absolutely perfect for autumn.

Will You Leave Full? Absolutely. Very Full.
At first, you might look at the menu and think: three courses, a bit of salad, steak and cake. But in reality, this is a seriously filling meal. We tried both the meat and fish menus, and my advice is simple: come hungry. Very hungry. 😄
This definitely isn’t the kind of tasting menu that leaves you wondering on the way home whether you should stop somewhere for a sandwich. That sandwich can stay safely at home. 😄
If You’ve Never Gone Out for a Proper Steak, This Is a Great Opportunity
And this is exactly why I love FoodLover Restaurants Week. I want to give you the opportunity to discover restaurants and dishes you might not normally choose, or perhaps something you’ve wanted to try for a while but haven’t quite wanted to spend the money on yet.
If filet mignon is one of those dishes you’ve always wanted to try at a proper steakhouse, then Meat & Wine’s 3-course menu for €40 is a great opportunity to do exactly that. And if meat isn’t your thing, there’s a fish menu too. Simple. Something for both tastes.
But one important thing: you definitely need to book your table in advance.
