SALT Restaurant in Tallinn – FoodLover Restaurants Week 2026
SALT Brings a Delicious Flavour Journey to Restaurants Week
If there’s one restaurant where I already know I’m not going to have an ordinary dinner, it’s SALT. 😋
I’ve been to SALT several times, and they still manage to come up with flavours that make you think, where did they pull that one from?
This time, I went to try SALT’s 3-course menu for FoodLover Restaurants Week, and I can already tell you that SALT is well worth putting in your calendar for 7–18 October 2026.
👉 Reservations are now open, and you definitely need to book your table in advance!
FoodLover Restaurants Week is all about discovering new restaurants and new flavours at a great price, as well as finally trying those places you’ve had on your wish list for ages. Maybe the regular price has made you hesitate before, or you simply haven’t found the right occasion. Either way, this is an offer you definitely don’t want to miss!

SALT Is a Small Restaurant with a Big World of Flavours
SALT is located in Kadriorg, Tallinn, at Vase 14, and they make good use of local and seasonal ingredients. SALT’s owner, Tiina, isn’t afraid to play with new and slightly unexpected flavours either.
Tiina Kõresoo has brought home experiences, flavours and recipes gathered during her travels, with a desire to share them with others as authentically as possible.
And sharing is an important part of SALT. You don’t have to think, my starter, my main course, my dessert, and no forks allowed on anyone else’s plate. 😄 Sharing food, trying different flavours and enjoying the experience together is very much encouraged here.
SALT’s regular menu is quite a journey around the world too. You’ll find Japanese karaage and okonomiyaki, Thai-style crab cakes and spicy mussels, tiger prawns in kataifi pastry, and octopus with North African influences.
So perhaps you don’t even need to pack your suitcase. Your taste buds can do the travelling instead. 😄

For this Restaurant Week, SALT has put together not one, but two special offers.
SALT’s Luxury Seafood Tasting Menu – €60
Seafood lovers can enjoy a six-course tasting menu:
- Fresh oyster with red onion vinaigrette (G, L)
- Swordfish tiradito with passion fruit – Peruvian-style swordfish with lime and coriander dressing and passion fruit
- Tiger prawn in kataifi pastry with sriracha aioli (L)
- Thai-style crab cakes with sweet and sour chilli sauce
- Spicy Thai-style mussels with coconut, tomato, coriander, chilli and ginger sauce (G, L)
- Passion fruit mousse with fresh basil (G)
Just reading through the menu, you can already tell that SALT isn’t playing it safe with just one or two flavours. Thailand, Peru, passion fruit, coriander, chilli, ginger, seafood… exactly the kind of colourful mix of flavours you’d expect from SALT.
But this time, I didn’t try the seafood tasting menu. Instead, I went for their 3-course Restaurants Week menu, which I’ll tell you all about below. 😇

3-Course Special Menu – €27
This is the menu I went to enjoy:
Swordfish tiradito
Birria tacos – crispy Mexican tacos with juicy pulled pork and cheese
Passion fruit mousse with fresh basil
First to arrive was the swordfish tiradito. Nicely tangy, fresh and just the right amount of spicy. It’s exactly the kind of dish that wakes up your taste buds from the very first bite. The passion fruit adds an extra fresh and vibrant twist to the whole dish.
It’s not heavy or overloaded with flavours. Instead, it’s a wonderfully fresh start that leaves you very curious to see what’s coming next. ☺️

Next came the birria tacos: crispy Mexican tacos filled with juicy pulled pork and cheese.
These were delicious! Juicy meat, cheese, pickled onion, herbs and just a little bit of spice. They come with a tasty sauce on the side, perfect for dipping. And yes, these are definitely made to be picked up with your hands, dipped into the sauce and enjoyed properly. 😋
One more thing. If you arrive thinking the portion might be a little small, and when the plate lands on the table you wonder, will this really fill me up? Trust me, it will. 😄
The tacos are surprisingly hearty, packed with flavour and definitely leave you feeling nicely full.

Passion fruit mousse with fresh basil – this was absolutely divine 🤩
Beautifully light, fluffy and silky. The lovely tartness and sweetness of the passion fruit are perfectly balanced, while the passion fruit seeds add a little crunch.
And then there’s the fresh basil! 🌿 It gives the dessert an unexpected little kick that you might not expect when you first look at the mousse. And that’s exactly what makes it so special.
A wonderfully rich and flavourful dessert.

There’s one more thing I really like about SALT. You don’t necessarily have to come here with the idea that everyone orders their own full menu and then strictly sticks to their own plate. 😅 You can also come as a couple, order one menu and share the different flavours together.
SALT itself places a lot of emphasis on sharing food, and their idea of “social dining” fits this perfectly.
Why Try SALT During FoodLover Restaurants Week?
For me, SALT is the kind of restaurant to visit when you want to taste something a little different. Tiina is constantly looking for new flavours and ideas, and that curiosity runs throughout SALT’s story. They aren’t afraid to combine influences from different cuisines around the world, and the Falstaff Restaurant Guide 2026 also describes SALT’s menu as being inspired by travels around the world and constantly evolving.
I’ve always loved food that creates an emotion. Not simply “that was good”, but the kind of flavour that really stays with you and has you talking about it afterwards. 🥰
