Tasca Portuguesa in Tallinn – Authentic Portuguese Restaurant in the Old Town
Tasca Portuguesa Tallinn is located in the heart of Tallinn’s Old Town, just a short walk from Town Hall Square at Kullassepa 13. From the moment you step inside, it feels as if you’ve briefly stepped out of Estonia – the warm welcome, friendly atmosphere and wonderful music selection create a relaxed and inviting feeling from the very first moment.
Tasca Portuguesa Tallinn reopened on March 15, 2023 in a new location. The concept was created by Portuguese living in Tallinn, with the aim of introducing Portuguese cuisine, drinks, music and even fashion. Tasca is not just a restaurant – it is a unique combination of a restaurant, shop, café and bar, which makes the entire experience especially distinctive.
👉 Reservations are open, and it is highly recommended to book a table in advance.

First Impression and Atmosphere 🇵🇹✨
The atmosphere at Tasca Portuguesa Tallinn is romantic and cosy, yet simple and elegant at the same time. It’s the kind of place that works perfectly for a candlelit dinner for two, but also for spending a longer evening with friends.
The evenings become even more special during their live music nights, when the entire space feels warmer and more emotional.
I also loved the motto written on their wall 🤩
“Life is good, but Wine is Better!” 🍷
It perfectly captures the spirit of the place.

Starter – From the Vegan Menu 🌿
Goat Cheese Salad – goat cheese, brioche, romaine lettuce, grilled walnuts and honey–mustard dressing
For the starter, I chose the goat cheese salad from the vegan menu options.
Honestly – it was a very good choice. The goat cheese had a pleasantly smoky flavour, the salad was fresh, and the honey–mustard dressing added a rich and well-balanced taste to the whole dish.
Everything worked beautifully together – it was the perfect way to start the evening.

Main Course – Octopus, Simply Perfect 🐙
Tasca Octopus – octopus, sweet and white potato gratin, chorizo powder
For the main course, I chose the Tasca octopus from the three-course menu. It was truly very well prepared. The octopus was tender, cooked perfectly, with exactly the texture it should have. The flavour had a pleasant saltiness, and the dish as a whole felt very interesting and distinctive.
The potato gratins added a satisfying richness to the plate, while the chorizo powder brought a subtle spicy note. It was a very filling dish that left you comfortably satisfied without feeling too heavy.

Dessert – Pistachio Fondant, a True Gem 💚
Pistachio Fondant – served with vanilla ice cream and pistachio powder
For dessert, I chose the pistachio fondant from the three-course menu. Honestly – it was a true gem 🤩. A very special and distinctive dessert that I would definitely recommend trying.
The fondant was warm, soft on the inside, not overly sweet and pleasantly crispy on the outside. A perfect balance of flavours and textures.
It was the ideal ending to the whole dining experience – truly the cherry on top 🍒.

A Truly Satisfying Meal 🍽️
It’s definitely worth mentioning that you will leave Tasca Portuguesa Tallinn feeling truly full. The portions are generous and the menus are well thought out – whether you choose the two-course, three-course or the vegan menu.
Tasca Portuguesa Tallinn is a very pleasant and authentic Portuguese restaurant in the heart of Tallinn’s Old Town.
If I had to sum it up in a few words, I would say the food is flavourful and carefully crafted, the atmosphere is romantic and warm, the music creates a special mood, and wine clearly plays an important role 🍷.
If you are looking for something a little different, yet very heartwarming, Tasca Portuguesa is definitely worth visiting.
