Argentiina Restaurant Lootsi 8 – A Meat Lover’s Paradise Near Tallinn Harbour

Argentiina Restaurant is already well known to many Tallinn locals thanks to its impressive standalone stone building next to the Kosmos cinema at Pärnu mnt 37. Now the meat lover’s paradise has expanded, and you can also find Argentiina Restaurant near Tallinn Harbour at Lootsi 8.

The new location offers the same passionately created Argentinian cuisine, where meat still takes centre stage.

Compared with the Pärnu maantee restaurant, the Lootsi 8 location feels brighter, more spacious, and more modern. The South American atmosphere is brought to life through Argentinian-inspired details, bull horns on the walls, and colourful artwork. Both locations have their own character, so it is definitely worth visiting both and seeing the difference for yourself.

Just like at the original Pärnu maantee restaurant, the Lootsi 8 location also features an open kitchen, where guests can watch the grill masters prepare different dishes.

A Refreshing Start

For an aperitif, we were served Martini Fiero with Fentimans Connoisseurs Tonic. Martini Fiero is a vermouth with notes of blood orange, and together with the tonic it made for a wonderfully fresh and light start to the evening.

The menu at Argentiina Restaurant is extensive, offering a wide selection of meat dishes as well as seafood.

Starters

For our first starter, following the server’s recommendation, we chose the grilled beef tenderloin skewer with cheese fondue (€13).

The beef was tender and juicy, and paired beautifully with the melted cheese. The teardrop peppers added a fresh, slightly tangy twist to the dish.

For our second starter, we went for the grilled scallops on sweet potato cream (€15).

The scallops were cooked perfectly, while the smooth, slightly sweet flavour of the sweet potato cream complemented them beautifully. A simple combination, but one that worked extremely well.

Time for the Main Courses

For one of our main courses, following the server’s recommendation, we chose the grilled rack of lamb, 250 g (€23).

This dish could easily win over even those who do not usually go for lamb. The meat was juicy, tender, and cooked beautifully. The truffle sauce complemented the lamb really well and gave the dish an even richer flavour.

To accompany the lamb, the server recommended the Italian red wine Primitivo di Manduria Antica Masseria del Sigillo.

For our second main course, we chose the grilled octopus, 250 g (€28) from the seafood selection.

We especially liked the pumpkin purée served on the side, with its soft and natural flavour. The octopus was cooked well and pleasantly tender. Its seasoning was quite subtle, and I personally would have preferred a little more intensity, but the tartar sauce helped bring the whole dish into balance.

The server’s wine recommendation for this dish was the Argentinian red Malbec Cabernet Sauvignon-Tannat Reserva, Arnaldo B. Etchart.

A Sweet Finale

For our first dessert, we chose the mango cream with pistachio crumble (€7).

It turned out to be one of the most pleasant surprises of the evening. The mango cream was silky, creamy, and light, while the pistachio crumble added a lovely contrast in texture. The tangy passion fruit cream served alongside it balanced the sweetness beautifully.

This is definitely a dessert we would happily come back for.

For our second dessert, we chose the classic crème brûlée (€7).

There was no attempt to reinvent the classic, and there really did not need to be. It was exactly what a good crème brûlée should be: smooth and creamy inside with a beautifully caramelised top.
